The problem
This four-story Brooklyn apartment building had failing window lintels and worn mortar, including at the parapet.
What we did
- Put up scaffolding and a sidewalk shed to protect the public
- Removed the brick above failing windows and took out the old lintels
- Installed new primed steel lintels and reset the brick
- Ground out and repointed the brick, including the parapet
The result
Sound new lintels over the windows and freshly pointed brick, with the scaffolding and shed removed.
